Start by scheduling an eligible telehealth appointment. Confirm that you will be physically located in a location where the provider can legally deliver care at the time of the visit, and provide accurate contact and insurance information when requested.
Before the appointment, gather your medication list, allergies, medical history, pharmacy information, and questions. If available, have relevant measurements such as temperature or blood pressure ready. Use a charged smartphone, tablet, or computer with a working camera, microphone, and stable internet connection.
Choose a well-lit place where you can speak comfortably and protect your privacy. Avoid taking a telehealth appointment while driving. Signing in early gives you time to troubleshoot your camera, microphone, or internet connection.
During the secure video visit, describe your symptoms and answer the provider's questions as completely as possible. The provider may ask you to show a rash, demonstrate movement, take your temperature, or provide other information that can be gathered remotely.
At the end of the visit, the provider will discuss the assessment and next steps. This may include home-care guidance, medication when clinically appropriate, follow-up, laboratory testing, or an in-person visit. If your condition cannot be adequately evaluated virtually, you may be directed to the Timonium clinic or another appropriate level of care.
Patients in Timonium, Lutherville, Mays Chapel, Cockeysville, and Hunt Valley can use telehealth when eligible, helping make care more convenient while preserving access to in-person services when needed.
