Can a Provider Prescribe During Telehealth?

When clinically appropriate and permitted by applicable rules, a healthcare provider may be able to prescribe or refill certain medications after a telehealth evaluation. A prescription is never automatic. The provider must consider the patient's symptoms, medical history, allergies, current medications, risks, and whether enough information is available to make a safe treatment decision.
